Ronan Keating and Keith Duffy have paid tribute to the late Stephen Gately, on the ninth anniversary of his death.

On October 10, 2009, the Boyzone member died suddenly at the age of 33 due to a congenital heart defect.

Nine years on, Stephen’s bandmates are still in mourning, and took to social media to post touching tributes to him.

Ronan shared a photo of a tattoo he has of the numbers 76 and 09, which signify Stephen’s year of birth and year of death.

He captioned the post: “I hear your laugh every day bro. That wicked sense of humour still gets me through.”

“Thank you for the friendship. Can’t believe nine years have passed. Miss ya bro, your song will last forever. #Wingman #Brothers #Love”

Bandmates Shane Lynch, Mikey Graham and Keith Duffy also have the same tattoo to honour Stephen.

Meanwhile, Keith Duffy shared a number of sweet photos of him and Stephen over the years.

He wrote, “There’s not a day goes by where I don’t remember a wonderful memory of times spent with this beautiful beautiful man. I miss you Steo.”

Over the summer, Boyzone announced plans to release their last ever album later this year.

The bandmates will also embark on their final farewell tour next year, to mark their 25th anniversary.
