Boyzone have confirmed their plans to continue on the Australian leg of their farewell tour, without Keith Duffy.

Earlier this week, Keith was hospitalised and missed Boyzone’s show in Bangkok, Thailand.

Their next scheduled show is in Perth, Australia, and before taking to the stage the bandmates posted a video on Instagram to explain Keith’s absence.

In the video, Shane Lynch says: “Unfortunately as you can see we are only three, our Keith Duffy is lost in Thailand. Just like the good film says, Thailand has got him now.”

“He’s not well and we don’t know exactly what is happening with him at the moment, there are a lot of blood tests and one test and the other tests and he’s in the hospital right now, hopefully recovering, fingers crossed. So just letting you know we are one man down.”

Mikey Graham added: “One man down but we are soldiering on, looking forward to putting on a good show tonight here in Perth and looking forward to the rest of the Australia tour and hopefully sooner rather than later Keith will be back with us.”

Ronan Keating shared the video on his Instagram, alongside the caption: “Perth we are ready for ya. Sadly Duster is not with us tonight but we are praying for his speedy recovery and he will be back with us soon.”

The news comes after Ronan revealed how Keith’s health rapidly deteriorated, before he collapsed at Bangkok’s Thunder Dome on Thursday.

“He took ill before the show, he just went on a downward spiral,” he told Magic Breakfast. “He came to the gig, he had a massive, really high temperature, the doctors arrived at the gig and they said it wasn’t possible for him to go on in the state he was in.”

“We assumed it was food poisoning or something like that, but we don’t know, there may be something else going on. We’re waiting to hear back on the blood tests and whether or not he can travel,” he said.
