Bono worries fans as he says U2 are ‘going away’

Bono has worried fans as he said that U2 are “going away.”

Many fans of the iconic Irish band have taken the singer’s comment as an announcement that they are retiring.

As the foursome ended their Experience + Innocence tour in Berlin during the week, the frontman concluded the concert by saying: “We’ve been on the road for quite some time now – it’s going on 40 years – and this last four years have been really something very special for us.”

Bono then told fans: “We’re going away now.”

Although the band haven’t commented further on the 58-year-old’s statement, many fans have been sent into a frenzy as they think it’s the end of U2.

The band were forced to cut a concert in Berlin short in September, due to throat issues and recently told The Sunday Times: “This tour is particularly demanding.”

When asked if this tour was U2’s final one, the frontman told the publication: “I don’t know. I don’t take anything for granted.”
