Bláthnaid Treacy has admitted that she gets “overwhelmed” with her work schedule in RTÉ.

The TV star, who has been fronting RTÉ’s Two Tube for the past four years, revealed that some weeks she could be working six or seven days, and admitted that sometimes she just wants “everyone to leave me alone”.

“Sometimes it can get too much – some weeks I’m working six or seven days and it’s funny because, believe it or not, I’m incredibly lazy,” she told the RTE Guide.

“I love lying in and sleeping until 12, so there are times I want everyone to leave me alone – I want to watch an episode of Girls, eat chocolate and escape the world.”

The blonde beauty, who also hosts the National Chart Show on 2FM every Friday evening, thinks that our generation constantly feels like we have to work harder – because of graduating into the recession.

“I think it’s our generation – you never switch off.

“You have to work your backside off to get a job – and the minute you get it you feel you have to work your butt off to keep that job.

“It’s a big part of why I sometimes get overwhelmed.

“I always say ‘Yes’ to things. I think it comes from graduating into the recession – you just have to work harder,” she added.
