RTE star Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh has revealed things have been difficult financially.

The presenter has worked with the broadcaster for 18 years, but admitted things haven’t always been easy.

“You have older women who like me for being me. They mightn’t like you, but they like your honesty,” she explained.

“I’m not ashamed to say I find this or that hard or that financially it’s been tight for us, and everybody else is the same,” she said.

Speaking candidly to Women’s Way magazine about her father’s death, the Meath native reveals is still greatly affects her today.

“He drove to Dublin every day for his job, it was a long trip, and if I was being honest, it is probably is what killed him, which is very sad, because he didn’t have the sense to mind himself.

“I still don’t understand that, I’m still angry about that. When you have children, you want to be there as much as you can, and to be with their children. But that’s not how life works,” she admitted.
