Baz Ashmawy has teamed up with his beloved mammy Nancy once again to film a new series for RTÉ.

The duo became a television sensation back in 2014, thanks to their Sky series 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy – which went on to win an Emmy in 2015.

And now, the pair are set to return to our screens very soon with a new two-part series, focusing on Irish people’s obsession with death.

Speaking to the Irish Sun, Baz said: “My mum has been dying to do some TV again and we both want to do something about death and how we celebrate it in Ireland.”

“Why are Irish wakes and funerals so iconic? The Brits don’t do that. Death is an interesting topic, and it piques our interest.”

The new series about death isn’t Baz’s only ongoing project with RTÉ, as he’s been filming an Irish version of DIY SOS over the past few months.

Back in August, the TV presenter issued a plea on social media, looking for people to help finish a woman’s house in Tipperary – after her husband died suddenly.

On this week’s Gosscast Goss.ie Founder Ali Ryan talks to Lisa Cannon about her best and worst celeb interviews and the reality of working in showbiz.
