Irish actor Barry Keoghan is set to play Pogues legend Shane MacGowan in a new biopic about the musician’s life.
The musician himself has given his approval to the casting, telling The Sun:
The film will focus on Shane’s life as an up and coming musician, and his relationship with wife Victoria Mary Clarke.
Victoria herself hinted at the casting over on Twitter.
To a tweet suggesting that Barry should play Bob Dylan in his biopic, she wrote:

Barry then favourited the tweet.
The actor recently announced that he has landed a role in Marvel film The Eternals.
