Aoibhin Garrihy reveals she’s ‘so so proud’ – as husband John reaches the top of Everest

Aoibhin Garrihy has revealed her husband John Burke has made it to the top of Everest.

The owner of The Armada Hotel, in Spanish Point, has become the first Clare man to make it.

Taking to Instagram, the actress said she was so happy her other half made it there safely.

At 9:45am local time @johnjohnburke became the first Clare man to successfully summit Mt Everest…so so proud of him and now hoping for a safe descent ??

“At 9:45am local time @johnjohnburke became the first Clare man to successfully summit Mt Everest,” she wrote.

“So so proud of him and now hoping for a safe descent.”

Aoibhin had joined John at base camp but then returned to Ireland.

The Dancing With The Stars alumni had stayed up all night waiting to hear her husband was safe and had reached the top okay.

A prayer service had been held in John’s hotel to hope for a safe journey.
