Anna Daly and Bernard Brogan wanted for next series of DWTS

Irish stars are already being linked to the second series of Dancing With The Stars – despite the fact that the programme is yet to get the green light for another season.

The show went down a hit in the ratings, and Shinawil producer Larry Bass has revealed that RTÉ are “close” to making a final decision, however, nothing has been confirmed just yet.

“We still don’t have a contract, but we hope to have one soon for Dancing With The Stars series two,” he told the Herald. “It all takes an enormous amount of time.”

Although the future of DWTS is still up in the air, a number of celebrities have already been approached and asked if they would be interested in taking part.

According to reports, TV3’s Anna Daly and Dublin GAA star Bernard Brogan are on producer’s wish-list for 2018.

The first series of the show was won by Kerry GAA player Aidan O’Mahony and his partner Valeria Milova. The series ran for 12 weeks, starting early January and finished at the end of March.

Although the show was extremely popular with RTÉ viewers, a second series of the show requires much consideration – as it’s an expensive show to make.

It’s rumoured that the show’s budget is around €2.5 million.
