Amanda Byram on her struggle with body image: ‘I just wanted to be skinny’

Amanda Byram has opened up about her past struggles with body image, and admitted that all she ever wanted to be was “skinny”.

The 43-year-old, who is set to host Dancing With The Stars, is an avid gym bunny and known for promoting a healthy lifestyle, however, Amanda had serious struggles in the past.

“Anything done to any degree is an obsession and it is unhealthy and that is one of the reasons why I got so into health and fitness, because I struggled with body image for many years.

“All I ever wanted to be was skinny. I thought skinny was healthy and I didn’t care about anything else or what my next meal would or wouldn’t be,” she told the Herald.

After feeling fed up and exhausted, Amanda decided to make a change once she was in her 30s.

“I felt like I was so exhausted and I started really training and eating well and a whole new world opened up for me,” she said.
