Al Porter ‘categorically denies’ groping claim

Al Porter breaks has broken his silence to “categorically deny” he groped a psychiatric patient.

The former Today FM host has been accused of groping a patient during a visit to St Patrick’s Mental Health Service.

But now his legal team have released a statement, saying Al completely denies the allegation.

“Al Porter is co- operating and will continue to do so fully with any inquiry by St Patrick’s as he categorically denies the allegation of criminal wrongdoing,” the statement read.

The hospital launched an investigation when a former in-patient made a complaint about the Blind Date host.

The man had claimed Al groped and kissed him while at the facility.

According to reports St Patrick’s own inquiry resulted in nothing “of concern” but the patient has now asked for a second investigation.

Meanwhile radio host Colm Hayes, who was with Al during the visit, told the Sunday Mirror that he saw nothing happen, and is happy to give evidence to that effect.

“I was with Al for those days and I never saw anything untoward happen. I was with him quite a lot and we presented a two-hour show each day.

“When he was in my presence, in the lobby and taking photos, I saw nothing happen at all. I am willing to sign an affidavit of my evidence, if asked,” he told the publication.
