Ailbhe Garrihy explains the story behind her bridesmaid’s unusual outfits

Aibhe Garrihy has taken to Instagram to explain how her bridesmaid’s unconventional outfits came to be.

The new bride opted to put her bridesmaids, sisters Aoibhin and Doireann and pal Serena, in silk skirts from Folkster and cream knitter jumpers from Ekotree knitwear.

Sharing a post by Ekotree to her Instagram, she wrote: “The story of our Aran jumpers.”

Ekotree shared: “The process behind @ailbhegarrihy bridesmaids cashmere sweaters – Firstly Ailbhe discussed the style she wanted.”

“Secondly, the cashmere colour was chosen. Ailbhe chose gesso, a bleached ivory colour by cashmere mill Todd & Duncan. Thirdly, the program was developed and swatches were knit and milled until the right fabric handle and drape were settled on.”

“The first sample sweaters are then created and tailored to size. Finally the finished bespoke pieces are made. Pieces were designed knit, milled and hand finished in the Doolin studio,” they described.

TV presenter Sile Seoige wrote: “So wow!! Adore.” Many of the Garrihy sister’s fans also posted to commend the choice.
