Gordon D'Arcy admits he doesn't miss rugby: 'I want to spend time with my family'

Gordon D’Arcy has revealed he doesn’t miss the world of rugby – as he’s too focused on looking after his family.

The 36-year-old hung up his boots six months ago and is now trying to find a balance between his family and career at Investec.

“Every day is a little bit different, so it’s really enjoyable,” he said.

“There’s loads of different challenges but trying to figure out what I’m doing with my spare time, that’s probably the biggest complaint I have – which is something new because I want to spend as much time as I can with my family.

“That’s the main thing, trying to spend time with the family at the weekends so that takes the majority of my time, but I’ll find a balance,” he told the Herald.

The sports star’s daughter Soleil turns one this year and he has made sure he has spent as much time with her as possible.

Meanwhile, Gordon’s wife Aoife continues to enjoy success with her Form School Fitness business based on Grafton Street.

“She’s had the busiest year. We were out the door from the start of January. It’s getting busier year-on-year and it blew our business plan out of the water,” he said.

“We wish we put more beds in. But we love what we’ve created. It’s very specific and unique.”
