Actress Pauline McLynn has recounted the night she told a top international official to “F*** off”.
The former Father Ted star admitted she caused a stir after getting drunk at the Dublin home of a foreign diplomat and ended up putting the curse word into every one of her sentences.
The Sligo native recalled how she went from a boozy lunch honouring a late friend to the exclusive event “very, very drunk”.
“On the day itself, I had lunched too well with another old friend, and we ended by repeatedly toasting a recently deceased pal who had left this life way too soon,” she said.

“By the time I was to change and leave for dinner, I was (I thought) invincible. And very, very drunk.”
Speaking in an Irish Times column, the 53-year-old admitted she tenses up thinking about the events of the night.
“When he told me his age – he looked much younger – my response was ‘F*** off ! No way’,” he divulged.
“There are other examples of inappropriate behaviour on my part that night. But I shiver to remember them. They are the stuff of another confession.”
