2FM DJ Tara Stewart launches her own food-focused club night

2FM DJ Tara Stewart has announced that she is launching her own club night.

The night is the brainchild of Tara and her partner, leading Dublin rapper Mango – who has been dominating the Irish airwaves with his new tune Deep Blue.

The night, called Katchi Club, will bring the musical couple’s loves of music, food and cultural expression together at the Bernard Shaw’s new Phibsborough address on Saturday the 7th of December.

As well as supplying tunes on the night, Tara and Mango have lined up performances from rappers R3D and Celaviedmai.

Eat Yard’s Saucy Cow will be making a special recipe for music lovers to enjoy ahead of the club night.

“This is special to me because food and music brings people together,” Tara told Goss.ie.

“I love to make people happy dancing and Iv’e had this idea since February but have been too nervous to do it. So I decided f*ck it – I have to give this a shot before the end of the year.”

“I wanted to tick this off my list and I am so happy to welcome two brilliant rappers to jump behind the mic, and to have another space other than my radio show to showcase amazing new talent,” she said of the first night’s performers R3D and Celaviedmai.

“Hip Hop and RnB has sampled Bollywood music for years, so to be able to mesh my love of that genre and half of my ethnicity is what makes this special – especially with my fella Mango because Hip Hop and RnB and curry is what brought us together.”

The club night is kicking off for the first time on Saturday, and entry is free on the night.
