PICS: Meghan Markle visits women’s charity following patronage announcement

Meghan Markle visited women’s charity, Smart Works, following the announcement of her patronage for the organisation.

The charity helps to provide interview clothing and interview training for unemployed women in need.

The 37-year-old chatted with some of the women the organisation helped, along with volunteers of the charity.

“The Duchess spoke to Ashwak, who was out of work for nearly 6 months before coming to @smartworkscharity, and was really struggling with her self-belief,” the caption on a snap of Meghan and Ashwak read.

Kensington Palace also shared a picture of the Duchess chatting to clients and workers within the charity, as they wrote: “It’s not just hand-me-downs. It’s saying, this is the blazer that helped me land that interview – and I want this to be the piece that helps this woman have that part of her story.”

Meghan even helped a woman, Patsy, style herself for an upcoming interview and met with Ruma, another lady who is preparing for a job interview.

The former actress was also announced as patron of the National Theatre, Mayhew and The Association of Commonwealth Universities this morning, and will visit each of the organisations over the coming weeks.
