Meghan Markle’s SECOND close aide ‘to quit in 2019’

Meghan Markle’s second close aide is set “to quit in 2019.”

Samantha Cohen has been working with the Royal Family for over seventeen years, but she is allegedly set to leave her role as Prince Harry and Meghan’s personal secretary in the new year.

The news comes after the Duchess’ personal assistant, Melissa Touabti, quit just six months after the royal wedding.

According to the Sunday Times, a source close to Meghan said: “Sam will be a huge loss. Going forward, Meghan might need someone cut from a slightly different cloth to traditional courtiers, who is not a career civil servant or royal insider.”

Samantha has been a firm favourite of the Queen for many years, as she was the first woman to hold the position of press secretary and was also made Commander of the Royal Victorian Order by the Queen in 2016.

It has been reported that the Duchess wants the 50-year-old to stay on as her royal aide, but that Samantha wants to leave the post, as she was only meant to fill in temporarily for Edward Lane Fox, who left the job during the summer.

Her departure comes amid claims that the Duchess is “difficult to work for”.
