Kate Middleton attended an engagement with Queen Elizabeth today, marking their first solo outing since the Duchess of Cambridge joined the royal family in 2011.

The pair stepped out to visit King’s College’s Strand campus, and they definitely dressed to impress.

According to PEOPLE, the British monarch wore a Stewart Parvin pink cashmere coat, which she paired with a matching hat.

Meanwhile, Kate looked chic in a grey Catherine Walker coat dress, and a black fascinator by Sylvia Fletcher.

While it took eight years for Kate to step out on her own with the Queen, Meghan Markle attended her first solo engagement with the Queen just a few weeks after her wedding to Prince Harry.
