Elton John has performed at the official reception for the Royal Wedding.
The Rocket Man singer performed for VIP guests at the reception hosted by The Queen, in St George’s Hall.
Kensington Palace announced the news themselves on their official Twitter account.
“Sir Elton John has performed at the Lunchtime Reception for guests celebrating the Wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle,” they wrote in a statement.
“Prince Harry asked Sir Elton to perform at the Reception which was hosted by Her Majesty The Queen at St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle.
“Sir Elton performed for the newly married couple in recognition of the close connection he has with Prince Harry and his family,” they added.
The close relationship is definitely in reference to Elton’s close relationship with Princess Diana.
In 1997 Elton emotionally performed Candle In The Wind at her funeral.
