Buckingham Palace has released a statement after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed they are “stepping down” as “senior members of the royal family”.
The couple shocked the world with a statement on Wednesday evening, which explained that they will be now splitting their time between North America and London and that they will become “financially independent”.
After the shocking statement was released, Buckingham Palace released a statement of their own.
“Discussions with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage,” the statement read.
“We understand their desire to take a different approach but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”
Many Royal Correspondents have claimed that the Royal Family has been left “disappointed” and “hurt” and that no senior Royal Family members were told of their intentions to release such a statement.
