Amal Clooney reportedly paid for Meghan Markle’s £125,000 trip from New York on a private jet.
The Duchess flew to the city for her baby shower last week and arrived home this morning along with her close friend, Amal and her two children, Alexander and Ella.
Amal and husband, George are close friends with the Duke and Duchess and the actor even defended Meghan in a recent interview in which he said she has been “pursued and vilified.”
The Sun has now reported that Meghan travelled home on Amal’s private jet, as the barrister was heading to the U.K. with her children anyway.
“Meghan hitched a ride with Amal on the private jet. Amal was already flying back and covering all the costs so it made total sense,” a source told the publication.
“Amal was more than happy for Meghan to fly back with her and the kids. It’s absolutely not the case that the taxpayers or the royal family paid for the cost of the jet.”
“The flight didn’t cost Meghan a thing,” they added.
The Duchess celebrated her baby shower with some huge celebs, including former Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, Serena Williams and stylist, Jessica Mulroney who reportedly organised the special day.
