Could Westlife boycott Irish radio stations refusing to play Nicky's Eurovision song?

Westlife may boycott Irish radio stations that are refusing to play Nicky Byrne’s Eurovision entry.

The pop star and 2FM host will take to the international stage in Sweden in May to represent Ireland with his song Sunlight, however the track hasn’t received much air time on Irish radio.

2FM chief Dan Healy reckons stations that don’t play the tune could be given the cold shoulder by Westlife if they reunite.

“Westlife will be back at some stage, and given what’s going on, I wonder will Nicky be able to go back to these stations with Westlife,” he told the Irish Sun.

However, programme director of FM104 Dave Kelly has insisted that Nicky’s job at 2FM has nothing to do with why they’re not playing the song – it’s just “not good enough”.

“There are three other lads in Westlife with Nicky who will decide if they want to appear on Dublin’s number one station FM104,” he told the paper.
