Former 2FM legend Gerry Ryan once announced live on air that Christy Dignam was still alive.
And the Aslan singer revealed he was forced to ring the late RTE star to try and convince him he was still alive.
But the cancer-battling star admits that Gerry – who made the announcement in the early 1990s – was fully convinced he was dead.

“Apparently what happened was that there was another Christopher Dignam living around the corner and he died and everyone thought it was me,” he told Radio 1.
“I was being a bad boy at the time so I presume that people weren’t surprised by the news.
“But I had to ring Gerry up anyway and tell him that I was still alive and kicking.”
Last year, Christy was diagnosed with two rare forms of blood cancer but is fighting back.
