2FMÂ star Louise McSharry has started shopping for wigs as she starts undergoing chemotherapy.
The radio presenter was diagnosed with lymphomia, which is cancer of the white blood cells.
“Yesterday, I bought a wig. Am now convinced my hair will remain on my head to spite me and the hundreds of euro,” she wrote on Twitter.
Tough going: Louise has already started chemo
The radio host revealed her first session of chemo was extremely difficult.
“Had my first day of chemo. It was fine while I was there but awful once I left,” she explained.
“Felt horrendous straight away, and then really hard done by because everything I’d read said you’d feel ok on day 1. Ended up in A&E.”
“Cried, felt sorry for myself, realised I’d been very blasé about all this. Got checked out and sent home, slept, feel better this morning,” she wrote on Twitter.
Brave: Louise is battling cancer at just 31
Louise, 31, added that she was finding it difficult to sleep in, despite needing to nap every day.
She said: “Despite the fact that I’m really tired and need to nap at least once a day, I have woken up before 8am every day since my diagnosis. CRUEL.”
But the radio star is keeping upbeat, and shared a snap of a Dolly Parton t-shirt, writing: “Bringing the spirit of Dolly Parton with me for my first encounter with Chemo.”
