Writing definitely pays: Sinead O'Connor making a massive €500,000 for writing her memoir

Sinead O’Connor has revealed she’s making a massive €500,000 by writing her memoir.

The Take Me To Church star was offered the chance to write her life story through Bob Dylan’s manager Jeff Rosen.

He happened to be having dinner with David Rosenthal – her now published – and pushed the idea of letting Sinead rip at a memoir.

She said: “David had loved the blog entries and contacted me and told me he’d give me a half a million quid to write the memoir in the style of the blogs.

“Jeff became aware of the blogs possibly because I mention Dylan a lot as he is the major artistic and religious influence on my life, along with my granny.

“Dylan and my granny are going to be two strands that run right through the book.”

However Sinead insisted that she was “joking for f**k’s sake” that she’d be dishing the dirt on her former lovers.

Instead the Wicklow singer told the Sunday Independent she won’t be dealing with “the public Sinead O’Connor.”

She said: “It’s going to be nothing anyone already knows — it’ll be funny backstage stuff.”

She added: “It’s not going to be a conventional memoir. I’m not writing about my childhood.

“The tone of it is to be comical, as are the blogs on the website — anyone who reads those will understand what the tone is.”
