“I would encourage anyone who wants to be a singer to go on and audition for a show like this.

“Some people have a snobbery towards it where they think ‘Oh I wouldn’t go on a talent show’, but you should, it’s a great experience,” she said.

Snobbery: Una revealed she feels people are snobby to reality TV

“Auditioning for reality shows is like a job interview for singers – they’re great for experience and you don’t have to even go far on the show or win it to do well.

“I auditioned for Popstars and You’re A Star. I didn’t go the whole way but that experience stood to me,” she told The Herald.

Meanwhile, there’s has been a lot of controversy around song choices on this year’s Voice of Ireland, however Una assure that her acts feel confident in what they’re singing.

“I try to give them options. I think it’s really important because you can have a great singer but when you give them the wrong songs it might not work out for them, so it’s really important,” she added.
