Simon Cowell has insisted that Niall Horan hasn’t changed an iota since meeting him at his X Factor audition.
The X Factor judge wished the One Direction star a happy 21st – and told him he was “still the same fun kind guy I met all those years ago”.
The music mogul first met Niall when he went on stage at the Convention Centre in Dublin – with Katy Perry also filling in on the panel.

He said: “I’d say half of it is down to my upbringing. That humble side of things, obviously Mullingar comes into play there a lot.
“Then it just kind of depends on what kind of person you are — some people do things their own way and some people do things the right way.

“I just do it, I just have a laugh and get on with it. These are all incredible things that we’re doing but if you let them get to you then they’re going to mess with you.”
However Niall won’t be celebrating his 21st properly today – as he is on the road touring with One Direction.
