Nicki Minaj has revealed that her new album, Queen, is going to be released today.
It was announced last week that the launch of the album would be pushed back to the 17th August, the same day that Ariana Grande’s Sweetener album is to be released.
The 35-year-old stated that she needed clearance to sample Tracy Chapman’s music on one of her tracks and that the album would need to be delayed until she was granted permission.
This was the second time that the singer had pushed back the release of her album, but everything seems to be back on track as she announced the premature release of Queen today.
Nicki appeared on Apple Music’s Beats 1 earlier this morning for her show, Queen Radio.
“I was gonna play the album right now but someone f***ed up. It’s a lot of corporate drama in here,” the singer announced during the broadcast.
The rapper will return to the radio show later today and play her new album in full, while chatting about each individual song throughout the programme.
