Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas FINALLY tops charts after 25 years

Mariah Carey’s hit festive track All I Want For Christmas has finally topped the charts – 25 years after it was first released.

The song came out in 1994 and topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Monday.

It became Mariah’s first number one song since 2008, and the first Christmas song to top the chart in 60 years.

In an interview with The New York Times she said it’s something her “die-hard” fans always think about.

“It’s something my die-hard fans think about, and people that are really close to me are talking to me about it literally all year,” she explained.

“But I don’t need something else to validate the existence of this song. I used to pick it apart whenever I listened to it, but at this point, I feel like I’m finally able to enjoy it.”

Mariah said she doesn’t care how corny it sounds, but she is delighted because she “truly” love the festive season.

“I just truly love the holidays – I know it’s corny, and I don’t care.”

The song was the most-streamed song in America last week, with 45 million streams.
