Louis Walsh's new boyband Hometown announced as Rose of Tralee entertainment

Louis Walsh’s new boyband has been giving a massive career boost – getting to play the Rose of Tralee.

The six-piece – who recently were seen on the Late Late Show – will perform to more than a million people on RTE One from the Dome in Tralee.

It comes as they work on their debut single and album, with hopes the performance will give them a massive boost like Shane Filan who played last year.

“Last year Shane Filan debuted his solo career on the Rose of Tralee stage and he went down a storm,” a source told Evoke.

“We were looking for a high profile act for this year and when we saw Hometown perform on the Late Late show we knew we had to have them.

“We approached Louis that night and did the deal there and then. I think they are going to be huge and are the perfect act for the Rose of Tralee. Six Irish lads singing at a traditional Irish event.’
