Thank God: Garth Brooks blasts claims he will play Ireland next summer

Garth Brooks has denied claims he was planning to finally play a show in Ireland next summer.

It had been reported that the US country singer wants to beat U2’s record for the biggest ever tour.

The Irish Daily Star claim he will play a Dublin date, and another Irish venue next July.

However, in a statement Aiken Promotions said: “There are no plans for Garth Brooks to perform in Ireland next year”.

If he does come to Ireland would be the final dates of his current stadium tour, and follows on from the drama around his last gigs.

He disappointed 400,000 fans when he pulled out of five Croke Park shows this summer.

Dublin City Council blocked the bid for all the shows to go ahead, but he was given permission to make four happen.

It was previously claimed that Garth has personally lost €10million after axing the three shows.
