Garth Brooks will personally lose €10 million if he refuses to play three shows

Garth Brooks will personally lose a massive €10 million if he refuses to play three Croke Park shows.

The US country star has just days to make up his mind on whether to play to 240,000 people – after turning down a rescue plan put forward.

Bosses at Dublin City Council had been happy for five shows to take place over three days, with two afternoon performances.

However Garth quickly rejected that idea, insisting it wasn’t feasible.

Now it has emerged that the Friends In Low Places singer will lose €10 million by not playing three shows, after agreeing a 60% cut on ticket sales.

“Garth stands to lose €10 million revenue if he walks away from the three concerts so that’s what is at stake here,” a source told the Star.

“Garth is still sticking to five concerts and it’s difficult to see him budging from that position.

“Something has to give because there is a lot of money on the table here and a final decision has to be made on Monday evening at the latest.”

It emerged overnight that Garth Brooks’ manager Bob Doyle emailed the Taoiseach in a bid to try and sort the mess – but is still waiting for a reply because of the reshuffle chaos.
