Garth Brooks vows to play NO gigs at Croke Park – unless all five take place

Country star Garth Brooks has only been granted permission to play three shows at Croke Park

However the US singer has sold out five nights at the GAA stadium – with more than 400,000 people buying tickets.

It has been confirmed that Dublin City Council hasn’t granted permission for those shows on Monday July 28 and Tuesday July 29th.

But Garth has now told promoters he would play “five shows or none at all” at Croke Park.

“I can’t thank the people of Ireland enough for how welcome they have made me feel. I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland,” he said in a statement.

“For us, it is five shows or none at all. To choose which shows to do and which shows not to do, would be like asking to choose one child over another. However this plays out, Ireland has my heart and always will.”

Previously Aiken Promotions have said they are “very disappointed” by the decision.

It was understood they have met with MCD in the hope of using the Aviva Stadium for the remaining dates which is free on those dates.

But promoters have now insisted this wouldn’t be possible given the special requirements for the show.

It comes after local residents have been protesting against the five nights, which they say will affect their standard of living and goes against a deal made with them to a maximum of three concerts a year.
