Dua Lipa responds to claims that she’s recording the new James Bond theme song

Dua Lipa has responded to claims that she is recording the next James Bond theme song.

The 23-year-old recently released ‘Swan Song’ as part of the soundtrack for the film ‘Alita: Battle Angel,’ but will also be released as an official single.

The British singer has been rumoured to sing for Daniel Craig’s final film in the secret agent film franchise.

Speaking to Capital Breakfast at the world premiere of Alita, she said:  “Oh my goodness, I would absolutely love to do Bond, although this is my first sort of taste of it and it feels really great to get to work on such an incredible movie, it’s such an honour. So, we’ll see.”

She admitted: “I would absolutely love to do it. I haven’t been asked to do it, but I would love to.”

Bond songs have been sung by icons like Madonna, Tina Turner, and Tom Jones.

Despite Dua Lipa denying that she’s already been approached to do the iconic song, the band Years & Years may have let the slip last year during an interview with Radio 5 Live.

They said: “I thought they’d ask us to do the theme song, but alas it’s Dua Lipa. S**t, am I not meant to say that? That’s what I heard. I feel bad now, maybe I’ve ruined everything.”
