Cancer-battling Christy Dignam has revealed he’s been left totally broke after his fight against the disease.
The Aslan star admitted he is “tens of thousands” of euro in debt after paying for more than a year of chemotherapy.
He said: “My insurance was basic, and didn’t cover scans that I had in the UK.
“I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t broke. My diagnosis obviously came out of the blue and I didn’t have a nest egg that I could fall back on.

“I was referred by Beaumont Hospital to the UK for specialist scans, but it wasn’t covered by my insurance, which is only basic.”
The Crazy World singer was helped by a fundraiser show at the Olympia last year.
Stars including Jedward helped raise cash for his fight against a rare form of blood cancer.

And Christy told the Star: “It gave me the ability to just live, keep up mortgage payments and buy medication.
“I’m up to my ears in debt – I don’t even know how much because my finances are all over the place, but I suspect it’s tens of thousands, and the bills are ongoing.”
