Zac Efron has shared the first photo of himself in character as serial killer Ted Bundy.

The Hollywood star has taken on his most challenging role yet for new movie ‘Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile’.

Ted Bundy was executed in 1989 after confessing to brutally murdering over 30 people over the course of at least four years in the mid-to-late-1970s.

Taking to Twitter, Zac shared an image of him as the serial killer and captioned it, “Meet Ted. #BehindTheScenes.”

Lily Collins will star as Ted Bundy’s long-term girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer in the upcoming biopic, and it’s believed that the script, written by Michael Werwie, will explore the crimes of the killer through the eyes of Ted’s girlfriend.

After years of living in denial, Elizabeth eventually turned Ted into the police, but she only discovered the true extent of his crimes when he began talking about them close to the time of his legally-ordered execution.

Last night, Lily also shared the first look at her in character as Elizabeth Kloepfer.

The thriller will be directed by Academy Award and Primetime Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker Joe Berlinger.

John Malkovich will also star as Judge Edward Cowart, who presided over Ted’s trial in Florida and sentenced him to death in 1979.
