Twitter is doing something REALLY special to mark Harry Potter’s 20th anniversary

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the first publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

To celebrate, Twitter have teamed up with Pottermore and Bloomsbury to create the #HarryPotter20 emoji.

If you want to put the Harry Potter touch to your tweets today, put #HarryPotter20 in your post and have your pick of an array of Potter -themed emojis.

The emojis vary from Harry’s iconic glasses, his lightning scar and of course a pint of Butter Beer.

Above are the most used #HarryPotter20 emojis so far, with Harry’s glasses  topping the polls.

In the past year there have been more than 40 million Harry Potter related tweets, with The Deathly Hallows being the most tweeted about.

Harry Potter’s author, JK Rowling is one of the most-popular authors on Twitter with 10.8M followers.

She often uses the platform to connect with Harry Potter fans and voice her views.

Quite recently using it to compare Donald Trump and he who must not be named.
