The first trailer for Top Gun’s long-awaited sequel has finally landed.
On Thursday, the film’s star Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at Comic-Con to show the first trailer – and as expected it’s seriously action-packed.
The sequel picks up decades after the original movie, which was released back in 1986.
Tom returns as Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell, and the trailer shows him wearing his famous leather jacket while racing on a motorcycle, and flying a fighter jet.
Top Gun: Maverick, which is set for release in June 2020, will also star Miles Teller as the son of Anthony Edwards’ pilot Goose, who was killed in the first movie.
The action-packed film also stars Val Kilmer, Jon Hamm, and Ed Harris.
