Sharon Horgan is teaming up with major Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon for a new project.
The writer and actress, best known for comedy series’ Catastrophe and Pulling, is set to write a film for the Oscar-winning star.
The 46-year-old, who originally hails from Co. Meath, has also previously penned hit HBO series Divorce, which stars Sex And The City actress Sarah Jessica Parker.
“Reese set up her own production company specifically to create better roles for women because she was fed up with getting sent scripts where she was some funny guy’s girlfriend. She saw Pulling and that’s why we hooked up,” she told Red magazine.

Reese previously admitted that she was a fan of the Irish woman’s work, after tweeting that she loved her sitcom Catastrophe – which Sharon co-wrote and stars in.
“New obsession #Catastrophe on @AmazonVideo – @SharonHorgan & @RobDelaney made me laugh so loud on a plane, I was told to be quiet… twice,” Reese wrote earlier this year.
The news comes after Sharon won big at the IFTA Gala Television Awards earlier this month for her work with Catastrophe – taking home a gong for Best Female Performance and Best Writer (Soap and Comedy).
