Jamie Dornan admits: ‘I hope my kids never see my work’

Jamie Dornan has admitted that he hopes his kids never see his work.

The Belfast native, who has starred as serial killer Paul Spector in BBC’s The Fall and sex-crazed Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades franchise, has two daughters under the age of three.

“Will my kids ever see any of my work? No! To be honest, we live in the countryside in rural England and our kids haven’t started school yet, so I haven’t really had any responses yet from the other parents,” he told the Irish Sun.

“Our eldest has started kindergarten and I bring her and pick her up and I’ve got a few funny looks there. Of course you never know what it is they recognise you for. Maybe they think I’m someone else,” he laughed.

Over the past four years, the actor has gone from being a single Calvin Klein model – to a husband to Amelia Warner, a dad of two daughters and a Hollywood star.

“The craziness of my career going in a certain direction coincided with me starting a family. Now I have two kids under the age of three and it’s mad and beautiful.

“Before we became pregnant, I could relate to paternal love, but until you experience it, you really don’t know it,” he gushed.

The 34-year-old just recently wrapped filming the second and third instalments of the Fifty Shades franchise, and opened up about keeping fit for the sexy role – and how the blockbuster hit has opened so many doors for him.

Stripping off: Jamie isn’t bothered by nudity | CALVIN KLEIN

“Even in The Fall, I have my top off a lot and of course Fifty Shades speaks for itself and I have to work out a lot. I don’t enjoy it massively and it takes up so much time, going to the gym, when I’d rather be with my two young kids.

“I never watch what I eat — I am terrible about that. But Fifty Shades changed my life in certain ways. A lot of people know who I am as a result of it. It opens doors in the industry and I have to be honest, if you’re in a movie that makes over $500m at the box office, it does help your career.”

Speaking about the nudity that comes with the Fifty Shades role, Jamie isn’t too bothered by it – thanks to his parents liberal attitude when he was growing up.

“I don’t really care about all the nudity in Fifty Shades. I am not a prude in any way and I wasn’t brought up to be a prude. I’m not saying my parents walked around the place nude, but they would never have been shocked by sex or nudity,” he added.
