Jack Reynor's new movie Glassland steals the show at Galway Film Fleadh

He’s been making waves all around the world with his role in Transformers 4, but it’s Jack Reynor’s latest movie Glassland that has everybody talking.

A tiny budget film compared to Hollywood blockbuster Transformers, but critics are already praising Jack for his stellar performance in the Irish indie movie.

Directed by Pilgrim Hill director Gerard Barrett, Glassland tells the story of a young taxi driver (Reynor) on the fringes of the criminal underworld.

In an effort to save his mother from addiction and unite his broken family, John is forced to make a life changing moral decision.

Even actor Domhnall Gleeson took time out of his busy schedule to attended the premiere on Friday night.

The Star Wars actor was spotted at the new Irish film starring Jack Reynor, Will Poulter and Toni Colette.

Although he sat in the back, the son of Brendan Gleeson showed his support to Tranformers star Jack and the film’s director Gerard Barret at the Galway Film Fleadh.

Jack himself attended the word premiere and revealed he identified with his character in Glassland – a taxi driver looking after an alcoholic mother.

Intense: Jack with co-star Will Poulter

“I can’t put into words what this experience was like,’ Jack told the audience. ‘I related more to this than Richard in What Richard Did.”

BAFTA winning actor Will Poulter attended the premiere in Galway’s Town Hall.

The actor, who is best known for his role on we’re the millers with Jennifer Aniston, said he felt honoured to have worked with Gerard on an Irish film.

“Jack and I are both privileged to have worked on bigger movies but I’d be lucky if I got to make even just one more Glassland.”
