Jack Reynor vows to use his fame to campaign against world injustices like George Clooney

Hollywood star Jack Reynor has vowed to use his fame to campaign against world injustices.

The Transformers actor – whose mum is human rights activist Tara O’Grady – looks set to follow in the footsteps of George Clooney and Angelina Jolie.

And the 22-year-old insists that as a famous people you “have to do something substantial”.

“If you have an opportunity to reach people on a broad scale, it’s not enough to just entertain people,” he said.

Couple: Jack was kept sane by Madeline

“You have to take responsibility. You have to do something substantial. Otherwise you’re just squandering what you have.”

Now Jack is finally getting the first taste of that fame after Transformers was released in cinemas across the world.

But Jack insists it hasn’t gone to his head, and having fiancee Madeline Mulqueen with him while filming helped him stay “very grounded”.

“I had my girlfriend out with me. My cousin came out for three months,” he said. “So I had my own people, which kept me very grounded and very sane.

New fame: Jack is being mobbed by Transformers fans

“I would walk out on set and shoot the most incredible, incredible action set piece – beyond anything you’d ever imagine.

“And then I’d come home in the evening and do the exact same stuff I’d always done. I’d have some dinner. I’d play some video games. I’d have a beer.”

And Jack told The Ticket that he plans to stay the same normal person he is now.

“When the time comes and I do get to spend time at home, the people who really care about me will still be there,” he added. “They’ll still be the same person and I’ll still be the same person.”
