It’s official! A Hocus Pocus sequel is in development

But will the original cast return?

Twenty six years after Hocus Pocus was released, the cult-classic movie is finally getting a sequel.

According to Collider, Disney+ bosses have hired Workaholics writer and co-producer Jen D’Angelo to write a script for Hocus Pocus 2.

It’s believed Disney want to find a way to bring back original cast members Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy – but it’s unclear if they’ll sign on for the project.

The original film starred Bette, Sarah Jessica, and Kathy as a trio of witch sisters who have been cursed since 1693 in Salem, Ma.

The witches are accidentally resurrected 300 years later, and as they try to acclimate to the 20th Century, they discover that Halloween has become a holiday.

Kenny Ortega directed the original from a script by Mick Garris and Neil Cuthbert, based on a story by Garris and David Kirschner.

On this week’s Gosscast Goss.ie Founder Ali Ryan talks to Lisa Cannon about her best and worst celeb interviews and the reality of working in showbiz.
