Hugh Jackman ‘secretly working on’ The Greatest Showman sequel

The first movie was a massive success

Hugh Jackman is reportedly working on a sequel to The Greatest Showman.

After opening the Brit Awards with a magical performance on Wednesday, it’s believed the Australian actor is working on the film’s sequel with director Michael Gracey.

Despite harsh reviews from critics, The Greatest Showman was a huge hit with audiences, and is the third highest grossing musical ever worldwide – having raked in £333million.

A source told the UK Sun, “The Greatest Showman has become the biggest movie success story in many years. The critics hated it and it was predicted to be a massive flop but then people power took over and there hasn’t been a box office sensation like it in years.”

“The music has become even bigger than the film, making the project hugely commercially successful,” they added.

Confirming the sequel plans, Michael Gracey said, “When a movie becomes as big a success is this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel. So those discussions have started and we are working on one right now.”

While Hugh will once again star in the sequel, it’s not known whether other leading stars like Michelle Williams, Zac Efron, Zendaya, and Keala Settle will be involved.
