Helena Bonham Carter and Angelina Jolie tipped for James Bond role

But neither of them will be a Bond Girl...

Helena Bonham Carter is tipped to play the villain in the next James Bond film.

After Daniel Craig confirmed that ‘Bond 25’ will be his fifth and final appearance as 007, producers are keen to book the 52-year-old for a villainous role in the movie, but she’s up against some stiff competition.

According to reports, producers are also looking at the possibility of booking Angelina Jolie as the film’s main villain.

An insider told the UK Daily Mirror, “Everyone thinks Angelina Jolie is going to get the part but bosses want Helena more. At the moment they are just finalising the cast.”

Angelina, who is currently in the middle of filming Maleficent 2 in London, previously starred alongside Daniel in ‘Lara Croft: Tomb Raider’ back in 2001.

It’s unclear who will land the role, but Helena has recently signed up to play Princess Margaret in the next season of Netflix drama ‘The Crown’ – which is a huge filming commitment.

Production on Bond 25, which is set to premiere in late 2019, is due to begin on December 3, and Danny Boyle will direct the spy-thriller.
