Gerard Butler congratulated his “mate” Martin O’Neill after Ireland’s massive win last night against Italy.
Striking up one of the most unlikely bromances, the Scottish actor showed support for Martin and the Republic of Ireland team, after Robbie Brady won the match by scoring a goal in the 85th minute.
Taking to Twitter, Gerard posted a pic of his pal Martin jumping for joy as he celebrated Ireland’s victory in Lille last night.

The Hollywood actor clearly has a soft spot for the football manager, as he once managed Scottish football club Celtic.
Robbie Brady’s winning goal against Italy has secured Ireland a place in the final 16, with the team set to play France on Sunday.
