EXCLUSIVE: Ronan Keating is up for a role in the new James Bond film

Ronan Keating has revealed he’s set to bag a role in the new James Bond film.

The Boyzone singer admitted he’s asked the movie’s producer, Barbara Broccoli, for even the smallest role alongside Daniel Craig.

And Ro – who recently starred in Goddess and voiced Postman Pat in its recent movie – looks to have an inroad.

“I think people are starting to have faith in me a bit more as an actor now, which is nice,” he told Goss.ie.

James Bond: Ronan would be joining Daniel Craig in movie

“Barbara Broccoli, the James Bond producer, she was the one who contacted me to do Once and that gives me huge confidence in going forward as an actor.

“I actually asked Barbara for a role in Bond, I said I’ll do anything – I’ll be an extra or a doorman, anything.

“She’s looking at new locations for the film at the moment, it would be amazing to see some filming in Ireland.”

The Dubliner is now getting ready for Once to premiere on the West End with him in it – admitting preparation has been extremely tough.

And Ro, speaking at the Marks & Spencer Marie Keating Foundation Golf Day, told Goss.ie he looks to be getting a movie out of the show.

“For me the big focus is on that until March. Hopefully there’ll be a film project off the back of that, which is exciting but I can’t say anything about it yet, probably in the summer,” he said.

“I’ve been here before and until you’re actually rolling on set, it’s a very different game to what I’ve been used to, it’s so on and off the whole time.”

And Ronan revealed that he is also working on movie projects in the background with girlfriend Storm Uechtritz – but won’t act in it.

“We’re working on a few projects together at the moment. We’re trying to get a film off the ground, so we’re working with an American production company on that,” he said.

“I’m not in it at all, I’ll get some sort of executive producer title. It’s not based in Ireland, but one of the characters could be Irish.

“We’ve written the screenplay, it’s a love story, we wrote it together.”

In an exclusive interview, Ronan added that it was tough going to see Begin Again recently – where he lost out to Adam Levine for the lead role.

“It was bittersweet watching it though because I was in line for it – the role went to Adam Levine from Maroon 5 in the end,” he said.

“So I was sitting there thinking, ‘That could’ve been me’. It was close, but lovely film.”

And Ronan even revealed that he missed out on getting a role with his actress daughter Missy, after reading for a part together.

“She’s a superstar, what a little actress. Missy and I read for a TV show called Copper,” he said.

“We didn’t get it, but we’d definitely consider working together. I’ve learnt a lot from her as an actor, to be truly honest.”
