Demi Lovato lands role in Will Ferrell’s upcoming Netflix comedy

The singer is returning to her acting roots

Demi Lovato has landed a role in Will Ferrell’s upcoming Netflix comedy about the Eurovision Song Contest.

The singer, who rose to fame on the Disney Channel, has been filming the new movie in the UK – and will play the role of Katiana, “one of the best and most angelic singers in all of Iceland.”

Demi announced the news on Instagram by sharing a video of Will, who also wished her a happy birthday.

Demi’s part in the Eurovision movie will be her first major acting role in years, and the cast also includes Pierce Brosnan, Rachel McAdams and Dan Stevens.

In the film, Will and Rachel will play Icelandic musicians Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir, and Pierce will star as Lars’ father Erick Erickssong.

On episode 31 of The Gosscast, Goss.ie Founder Ali Ryan sits down with RTE star Stephen Byrne.

From reporting from the red carpet at the Oscars to interviewing stars like Oprah, Stephen talks through the highs and lows of his career so far.

The Gosscast is sponsored by CraveCloset.com
