Colin Farrell on the Met Gala: 'Fashion gets lost on me'

Colin Farrell may have heated up the Met Gala’s red carpet in a three-piece Dolce and Gabbana tux but the actor has admitted the ball’s incredible fashion was “lost” on him.

Attending the coveted event at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art with his sister Claudine, The Lobster star described the evening as “beautiful” but thought the bash would of been more “mad” then it was.

“It was mad, it was not a casual affair, it was very high energy,” he said.

“To be honest, it was a lovely evening. I don’t know why I thought it would be more mad then it was.

“I’d been prepped by so many people, and I’d never been to it before so it was my first time. It was beautiful, it was a lot to see,” he added.

“There’s a lot of beautiful gowns but fashion gets lost on me at the best of times.”

Speaking on US morning show Today, the Dubliner opened up about his new role in the highly anticipated Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

“It takes place eighty years or so before young Harold was born,” he said.

“It was a gorgeous script, and David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potters directed it.

“So we’ll see, it’s out November but I loved it. I got a wand which is something I got to tick off the bucket list – it was a blast,” he added.
