Hollywood star Chris O’Dowd will be given the freedom of Roscommon later this month.
The Bridesmaids actor will be given the honour by his county in recognition of his successful acting career.
The Boyle native was originally announced as the recipient of it in 2012, and will now finally accept it on October 22.

However Chris joked that he won’t take up the ancient rights to “Prima Nocta” – allowing lords to take the virginity of serfs’ daughters.
He said: “Freedom of the county?! Thank you! And worry not, i’m usually too sleepy to take up my new rights to local Prima Nocta.”
There will be a ceremony for the 34-year-old in King House, Boyle, Co Roscommon.
